These vehicles saw service everywhere from the Western Desert, the Italian campaign and later too in NW Europe. Captured vehicles were also widely used by the Axis in North Africa and the Balkans.

The first Canadian built trucks came to the UK with their Army in December 1939 and following the Dunkirk retreat, with most of the British equipment left in France, Canada became pivotable in supplying automotive equipment to the British Empire forces. Produced by Ford and General Motors Corporation (Chevrolet), between 1939 and 1945 they produced 815,729 vehicles and 50,663 AFV's as well countless other items of military hardware.
