A30 Challenger 17pdr.

A30 Challenger 17pdr.

Although in development for 2 years it was not until November of 1943 that 200 of these 17pdr. armed Tank Destroyers were finally ordered. Naturally there was still need for further modifications and as a result they were further delayed and did not arrive in Normandy until August (no provision had been made for Deep Wading Trunking!). They were fast; at 30mph and armed with the 17pdr gave a good account of themselves in combat although still no better than the Firefly.

Our model depicts this big vehicle superbly and all barrels now come with a metal rod inserted in the resin for further strength.

A Brass turned barrel with Muzzle Brake is available separately.

Model shown built and painted using Milicast figures by Dan Taylor.
