SU152 Assault Gun
Introduced in early 1943, in time for Kursk, it proved to be very successful. Although not intended for the anti-tank role, it was more than capable of stopping a Tiger or Panther, by blowing the turrets off the vehicles, even at distance, by sheer blast effect, so earning the nickname "Zvierboi" (Animal Hunter).

Originally designated as the KV14, this 152mm assault gun version of the KVI-S took only 25 days to complete the prototype and was renamed as the SU152. Introduced in early 1943, in time for Kursk, it proved to be very successful. Although not intended for the anti-tank role, tests showed it was more than capable of stopping a Tiger or Panther, by blowing the turrets off the vehicles, even at distance, by sheer blast effect, so earning the nickname "Zvierboi" (Animal Hunter).
About 700 were built and although later supereceded by the newer ISU-152, they remained in front line service participating in the battle of Berlin. They were withdrawn from service in 1954.
