  • Type 94TK Tankette

    ...Although designed as a an armed tractor, they were greatly appreciated by the Infantry Divisions that received them and not having any other tank support, they ignored their intended role as logistical vehicles and used them as recce and support tanks to good effect.     The Type 97 entered service in 1938 and remained in production until late 1943 with a combined total of 2,000 being built In 1942 it was decided to improve both the hull and turret design the result was the "Shinhoto". Armed with a 47mm canon and two 7.7mm MG's they saw action on all fronts.

  • "Shi-Ki" Command Tank

    Based on the early Type 97, the hull was however changed to have a flat front plate along with other minor modifications. One major change however was the elimination of the hull M.G. with a 37mm gun. The turret too was unique to this model and had a redesigned frame aerial.
