M10 3" GMC (Optional Mid/Late Production) with Sandbags & Stowage
Our M10 3" Gun Motor Carriage kit comes with optional parts to build the vehicle with either the Mid-Production or Late Production turret.
The 3" M10 Gun Motor Carriage was based on the diesel powered M4A2 and first saw action in Tunisia in early 1943. Originally without counter weights, it was found necessary to fit the "Quick Fix" block counter weights in the field. A total of 4,993 M10s were built with many being supplied under Lend Lease to Britain and France, and 54 were also supplied to Russia. A further 1,713 M10A1s, based on the M4A3, were also built with many being converted into the M35 Prime Mover and 90mm M36 GMC.
The mid production M10 GMC has the standard "V" turret counterweight. This type first saw action in Tunisia remaining in action throughout the ETO and the Pacific Campaign.
The Late production M10 GMC is easily distinguished from the early types by the "Duckbill" turret counterweight. This type first saw action in Normandy and later in Italy and the Pacific Campaign.
Full Deep Wading Trunking and the Aerial shown are available separately from our Accessory range (see Related Products below).
