Ruston-Bucyrus Ltd was an engineering company established in 1930 and jointly owned by Ruston and Hornsby based in Lincoln, England and Bucyrus-Erie based in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Ruston-Bucyrus 19RB Crawler Excavator was used by Allied Combat Engineers and civilian contractors throughout WWII. It was used on all fronts for many applications particularly in British and US naval landing areas, airfield, road building and bridging areas, and later in the post-war ‘clean up’. This very well-known piece of equipment continued to be used for decades post-war and some may still be in service today. This 83 part kit comes with full interior machinery, custom trailer with optional bed and an operator figure. Typical towing vehicles included the AEC Matador 4x4 (Product Codes: UK225 & UK226) or the Scammell R100 6x4 (UK142). Mack NMs (UK356) and NOs (US131) were also known to tow plant trailers.
