Ford F15 4x2 15cwt 2Pdr. Anti-Tank Gun Tractor/GS Truck with full Tilt Cover (CMP No.11 Cab)
The first Canadian built trucks came to the UK with their Army in December 1939 and following the Dunkirk retreat, with most of the British equipment left in France, Canada became pivotal in supplying automotive equipment to the British Empire forces. Produced by Ford and General Motors Corporation (Chevrolet), between 1939 and 1945 they produced 815,729 vehicles and 50,663 AFVs as well countless other items of military hardware. This model represents one of the Canadian Military Pattern light trucks supplied with the earlier No.11 pattern cab. Supplied initially as a GS Truck, with the addition of 4 crew seats, they were also deployed as the Tractor for the 2Pdr. Anti-Tank Gun. These vehicles saw action everywhere from the Western Desert to the Italian campain and by the Axis in North Africa and the Balkans.
