2,962 of the "Water Buffalo" were built during 1943/4 with the British receiving 100, the Marines Corps 1,355 and the Army 1,507. It was later improved by the addition of extra armour and by redesigning the front cab. These were a big improvement on the earlier LVT1 (BA01) and first saw combat at Tarawa. The LVT2 also saw action in Europe and contrary some some published sources, they were used in the Normandy Landings, at least two photographs confirming this. The British used them in Italy for the Po River crossing and also in for assault on the Scheldt Estuary. Both Allies used them in river crossings in Germany along with the superior LVT4 (see US101 & UK124).

Any products purchased 'second hand’, (without proof of direct Milicast Model Company supply, or supply from an Milicast Model Company approved dealer, shop or agent), or any products part assembled or part worked on in any way, are not covered by this returns policy. Under these circumstances no returns will be accepted, however we may quote for the supply of parts to restore the product to full inventory.
