The M26 was arrived in late 1944 and saw only a limited amount of combat. The delay in it's deployment has been generally agreed to have been down to the head of the Army Ground Forces; General Lesley McNair. However following the US Ist. Army reverses in the Battle of the Bulge, the American General Staff finally intervened in the T26 debate and ordered the first 20 Pershing's to the ETO without further delay. Arriving in February 1945 and supplied to the 3rd. and 9th Armoured Divisions, the Pershing soon proved to be more mobile than the Tiger and almost as good in a straight shooting match. They also saw action in the Pacific campaign being used at Okinawa and later in the Korean War. Please note: This kit was previously coded US013.
