This large (300 by 345 mm) brass fret comprises over 600 individual parts for detailing a 1/72nd scale model of LCT 7074, the sole survivor from the 900+ vessels of this type that participated in the 1944 Normandy landings and which is now on display at the D-Day Museum at Portsmouth. The fret was designed by Francis Macnaughton to accompany his design for a working radio control model published in the May and June 2022 issues of Model Boats magazine. It is intended to complement the set of 3D printed fittings also designed for this model (available via the 3D Boats shop at the Shapeways website) mainly by providing the appropriate surface detailing such as deck treads, rivetted panels, porthole surrounds and locker doors or lids that would be very time consuming to scratch build. Other parts provide a more robust alternative to the most delicate items in the 3D printed fittings set while others make up into a correctly hinged bow ramp and the 4 hand winches. See the detailed fitting instructions and parts list to appreciate all the items included. Do note that some parts such as the ramp cable pulleys are very small and will need careful handling to achieve the correct result.
