LCI(L) Landing Craft Infantry Large - (RN/USN Optional Parts)
The LCI(L) was the largest of the personnel carriers, carrying 180 troops and a crew of 24 (3 Officers and 21 Other Ranks). Later vessels could carry 210 fully-equipped troops. The kit comes with alternate parts. The Royal Navy versions favoured a lower bridge while the US Navy favoured the higher bridge (although some US vessels did have the lower type) along with some other minor variations. In service from 1943, they saw action on every amphibious Allied landing from then until the Korean War. The kit comes with a sheet of Brass Frets that includes gun shields, gun sights, etc., Brass Tube and a set of optional decals. Available separately are several figure sets to crew both the RN or USN versions. Two sets of Royal Navy crew designed were specifically for this vessel (Product Codes: FIG086 & FIG087) along with British/Canadian assault troops. (FIG093 & FIG094). USN Bridge crew (FIG091), Oerlikon Gun Crew (FIG092) and troop sets FIG067, FIG068 and FIG047 are suitable for the USN Version.
