  • BT7 Fast Tank (Model 1935)

    The BT Series was based on 2 Christie tanks purchased from the USA in 1931. These were designated as the BT1 with the first series production of the new Fast Tank being ready in 1932 as the BT2 armed with a 37mm gun. Further development produced the BT3 and BT4 and in 1933 the BT5 was developed incorporating numerous changes but most importantly with a new 45mm gun in an enlarged turret. In 1935 further improvements resulted in the Model 1935, also known as the BT7-1, which had a new engine and a welded, redesigned hull. These tanks would remain in service until, and including, the first years of the Great Patriotic War having previously seen action in the Spanish Civil War, the brief hostilities with Japan in Manchuria in 1938 and in the Winter War of 1940 against Finland. They would also participate in the Soviet-German partition of Poland in 1939.

    The BT Series was based on 2 Christie tanks purchased from the USA in 1931. These were designated as the BT1 with the first series production of the new Fast Tank being ready in 1932 as the BT2 armed with a 37mm gun. Further development produced the BT3 and BT4 and in 1933 the BT5 was developed incorporating numerous changes but most importantly with a new 45mm gun in an enlarged turret. In 1937, further improvements led to a new conical shaped turret with sloping armour and twin-horn periscopes being fitted and redesignated as the BT7 (Model 1937) aka BT7-2.These tanks would Cthe brief hostilities with Japan in Manchuria in 1938 and in the Winter War of 1940 against Finland. They also participated in the Soviet-German partition of Poland in 1939.

These tanks would remain in service until, and including, the first years of the Great Patriotic War having previously seen action in the brief hostilities with Japan in Manchuria in 1938 and in the Winter War of 1940 against Finland. They would also participate in the Soviet-German partition of Poland in 1939.

    In 1939, further modifications were made to the Model 1937 turret, these included different hatches, a rear mounted 7.62 MG, twin spot lamps and a roof mounted AA MG. This resulted in the production model known as the BT8.

  • BA6 (BA3) Armoured Car

    Along with the The BA10, the BA6 was one of the most widely used Armour Car used by the Soviet Union throughout the 1930's and was still in wide use in the early years of the Great Patriotic War having also seen action in Finland. It was also used by Republican forces in the Spanish Civil War. Precise figures of armour car production is limited but it is known that as late as 1941 there was over 4,000 armoured cars in the Army of the Soviet Union. The BA6 was externally almost identical to the earlier BA3 and differed from the later BA10 both in the rear hull design and in having the larger T26/BA5 turret. This mounted a 45mm gun and co-axial 7.62mm MG with another ball mounted MG in the hull. Our model has all the visors and flaps moulded in the open position and consists of only 11 parts.

  • T37 Amphibious Tank

    Dating from 1933, this small 3.5 ton, 2 man amphibious tank was based on a British VCL design and utilizing an improved suspension based on the French AMR light tank. It had a road speed of 40mph and an operating radius of 115 miles. Armed with one 7.62mm MG they were used in recce units and continued in service in the early part of WWII being superseded by the T38, although in practice they often operated together.

  • T38 Amphibious Tank

    The T38 was an improved version of the earlier T37 (see Related Products below) and had an improved engine and redesigned hull. With the T37, a total of 2,500 vehicles were built and first saw action, often together, in the Winter War of 1940 against Finland. They remained in service for the first few years of WWII.
