PzKpfw 38(t) Ausf. E
This model represents the fifth mark of the famous Czech built 38(t) series. A total of 525 of the Ausf E and F variants were built from November 1940 and October 1941 and differed only in minor ways. Following combat experience in Poland it was soon realized that greater protection was required. Resultantly the frontal armour was increased to 50mm by riviting two 25mm plates together resulting in these later variants have the flat front plates. The thickness of the hull and turret sides was also increased. All models of the 38(t) served in Russia from July 1941 onwards.
