2Omm Oerlikon Gun

The 20mm Oerlikon gun originated in Germany in 1917 but was known as the Becker cannon. The patents were bought by a Swiss company before the Oerlikon Machine Tool Co. acquired the gun design in the early 1920's. It was used on various mounts by almost every combatant nation during WWII but most notably by the Royal Navy who mounted them on a number of different craft and on the back of Bedford OYD for base defence.
