This transfer set covers a fascinating, if obscure, unit formrd to provide fire support for Operation Overlord. The RMASG was not originally intended to land on D-Day and indeed were not even allocated drivers until General Montgomery found out about the omission and had it changed.
Their Landing Craft were the first on to beach in both the British and Canadian beaches. Although ordered not to go more than one mile from the beach, there are records of the unit vehicles operating ten miles inland! Such was their usefulness that they were kept in theatre for upto 15 days, far more than they were originally intended to do.
The set consists of markings, including the distinctive calibration markings around the turrets, for two Centaurs and Sherman Mk.V Command Tank, plus schematic showing the Battery landing area, Organisation table for RMASG and detailed instructions including coloured painting instructions.
