M3A3 Stuart turretless Recce (Late) with optional Track Guards

This model depicts the turretless Stuart M3A3 recce tank, which following the expereinces with extemporised versions in Tunisia (with M3's) and in Italy, were modified in the UK prior to D-Day. With their various combinations of Machine Guns they were used by the British and Canadians for reconnaissance throughout the campaign in NW Europe. In this form it was also used as a gun tractor for the 17pdr. anti-tank gun. This model is also of the late type seen in the NW European Campaign which differed from the early type (BB128) by having a raised panel around the turret ring but still had the usual array of stowage, etc., but also has the addition of optional full length track guard.
