Based on the prodigious Czech 38(t) chassis, these small but very effective 75mm armed Tank Destroyers, started to see service from July 1944 onwards with a massive total of 2584 being built.

.... Located in the gun housing with a covered funnel shaped gun tube, the flame gunner looked through the visor that was fitted on top of the mantlet. In total 20 were used in December 1944 for the Ardennes offensive, the so called Battle of the Bulge.

Only 2 of these huge heavy self propelled weapons were built on the chassis of the cancelled VK3001 project. They were deployed in Russia and photographic evidence shows 22 victory rings on the barrel of one of them....
