A total of 591 of the M3A5 variant, which despite having the Lee turret and not the British designed Grant type was referred by the British as the Grant II. With a twin GM 6-71 diesel engine the rear hull was heavily modified. Many were deployed in the Burma campaign and had the MG turret removed.
