As the Roadway (DTM03) approached the shore the supporting Beetles needed to be even more robust than the Concrete types (DTM02) in order to survive the continous battering of the Atlantic tide. Consequentltly these types were made of steel and also differed in appearance to the Concrete Beetles....

This resin kit recreates the final section of the Mulberry harbour which brought vehicles onto the beach. Of steel construction, they were driven on to the beach at high tide, They were then filled with water and rubble was built up around them as the tide went down to help keep them in place....
