Details:
Originally designed in 1941 as the M41, this long barrelled
anti-tank gun was further improved when the new tubular
trails (originally designed for the M42 ZIS 3 Dual gun)
were used and entered service as the M43 in early 1943.
The Germans
took any reasonable captured ordnance into service and
this piece became the 5.7cm Pak 208 (r).
They remained
in service with Soviet Bloc countries for many years
after WWII. (Also see Fig51) |
