Details:
Our model depicts the rare,but fully operational, Porsche
Tiger I.
Following
the rejection of his prototype design (see G105) in
favour of the Henschel Tiger, Ferdinand Porsche was
left with a number of hulls and suspension systems which
had been built
in anticipation.
However in
keeping with Hitlers practice, the Porsche designs that
had been built were also accepted, and with modifications
these vehicles were then put into service on the Eastern
Front.
Our kit has is finished in
zimmerit as per photographic evidence.
The remaining hulls were used to produce the Ferdinand
(see G107), Elephant, Bergertiger (P) (see G106) and
in the
final form as the Tiger P2 (see G140).
