The decision
to use the M4 Sherman, relegated the Canadian Ram tank
was to training etc., but following the use of "Unfrocked
Priests" as APC's by the Canadians in the Falaise
offensive, the decision was taken to form both a Canadian
(1st) and British (49th) Carrier Regiment within the
79th Armoured Division.
Using all types of Rams available, these were converted
by removing the turret and some interior fittings. They
went on to see combat in France, Belgium, Holland and
Germany.
Our
model was refurbished in 2004 comes with a complete
interior and an optional .50cal MG.
