Details:
With compatible hitting power of the German "88",
it was essential that the British fit this new gun in
as many chassis as possible. Although it
would later be fitted to the Firefly (UK33), Achillies
and A30 Challenger (UK23), this conversion was on the
well proven Valentine, although it was necessary to
completely redesign the hull and place the gun facing
rearwards. Introduced in mid '44, a total of 665 were
built and saw action in NW Europe and later with other
armies, notably the Egyptians.
Introduced as an interim solution, it proved to be an
effective and reliable weapon.
This a most
complete model with full interior detail. |
