Details: The A30 Challenger mounted
the 17pdr. anti-tank gun on a lengthened Cromwell hull
with an additional roadwheel added. The vehicle however
had only a passing resemblance to the Cromwell, having
a much larger turret which itself was derived from the
TOG 2 design.
Although just ready for service in March 1944, they did
not see action on D-Day, being delayed until August as
no water- proofing provision had been made! This is a
very complete model having all hatches open. |
