This
set came into production following a commission from
a customer who had a precise vision of the figures he
wished to add to his collection. Hence this unusual
but valuable addition to our range.
Delivery of
the American built M3 (Stuart I) to the British Army,
fighting in Egypt, began in 1941. Accompanied by American
technical instruction teams, each vehicle came with
full US stowage including personal weapons, throat microphones
and the American tankers helmets, etc.,
Resultantly
British Honey Stuart crews initially used this equipment
in the Western Desert and photographic evidence confirms
their use in Libya with the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars,
7th Armoured Division.
This five figure set therfore
consists of the Commanding
Officer dressed in the popular Afgan coat with
a standard issue leather trench jerkin and a Tent Hat.
The other figures consist of a mixture of a Junior Officer
wearing a Battledress jacket and woollen jumper and
other ranks with a mixture of uniforms.
