Along with the
The BA10, the BA6 was one of the most widely used Armour
Car used by the Soviet Union throughout the 1930's and
was still in wide use in the early years of the Great
Patriotic War having also seen action in Finland. It
was also used by Republican forces in the Spanish Civil
War.
Precise figures
of armour car production is limited but it is known
that as late as 1941 there was over 4,000 armoured cars
in the Army of the Soviet Union.
The BA6 was
externally almost identical to the earlier BA3 and differed
from the later BA10 both in the rear hull design and
in having the larger T26/BA5 turret. This mounted a
45mm gun and co-axial 7.62mm MG with another ball mounted
MG in the hull.
Our
model has all the visors and flaps moulded in the open
position and consists of only 11 parts.
