After the huge losses of men
and material suffered at the hands of the Germans in
Operation Barbarossa the Soviets had to replace their
losses as quickly as possible. Between July 1941 and
September 1942 the Soviet Union turned out a staggering
6,022 of these lightly armoured, 20mm armed, light recce
tanks as they could be built in smaller facilities and
not hamper T34 production at larger plants.
Our
simlified 9 piece model represents a mid production
vehicle most easily identified by having solid wheels
instead of the earlier spoked wheels.
