A total of
307 of these Heavy Assault vehicles, with their 150mm
guns, were built from mid 1943 onwards, first seeing
action at Kursk, but later on both fronts including
Italy.
Following
the experiences at Kursk it was decided to add an MG34
to the hull and this was incorporated in the late design
along with other changes in the hull design and the
change to all steel roadwheels.
Our
4 part model represents the late production type incorporating
all of the changes listed above.
