This variant
of the ubiquitious 251 Halftrack series was introduced
in 1940 and superceded the Ausf. A & B's, remaining
in production until 1943 although seeing action until
the end of the war, being used on all fronts. The main
visual difference was the redesigned front single plate
nose armour.
This particular
type carried an 8cm mortar which could be fired from
inside or outside the vehicle.
