US combat experience
vindicated British criticism of some design aspects
of the M3 Stuart which led to the final and best production
model of the M3 series; the M3A3, designated as the
Stuart V in British service.
In total
3,427 were built entering service in early 1943. The
majority were supplied to the British and some to the
Free French. They saw action in Italy and NW Europe.
In turn the
British supplied them to the Polish Armoured Divisions
and a small number to Tito's Yugoslav Partizans.
Approximately
1000 were also supplied to the Chinese 1st. Provisional
Tank Unit that served in northern Burma with "US
advisors". They never saw action with US forces.
This
is a simple 9 part kit and has all the hatches supplied
seperately for locating in either open or closed positions.This
model, unlike kit BB18, this model comes complete
with full track guards as often seen in photographs
of operational vehicles.
