Like the most
widely known of the "Easy Eight's"; the M4A3E8,
both the M4A1 and the M4A2 were continually upgraded
eventually recieving the Horizontal Volute Suspension
System.
Some sources
state that the M4A1E8 saw action in Germany in 1945
but this has proved difficult to verify with photographic
evidence. The picture opposite is inconclusive but these
vehicles did go on to see combat in the Korean War.

Rochlicts in Germany in early 1945, or is it an M4A3E8?
