This variant
differred from the earlier M3 (BA26) by the addition
of the M49 gun ring and the winch replacing the roller,
although from May 1943 most M3's were retrofitted to
M3AI standard with a further 2862 manufactured.
Used in Sicily,
Italy, NW Europe and in the Pacific campaign.
