The M3 Halftrack
was manufactured from 1941 with over 12,000 built. It
differred from the earlier M2 series being designed
as a Personnel Carrier and having a longer body. It
was also used as an armoured ambulance and unlike the
M3A1, it did not have the MG pulpit and still retained
the unditching roller.
First used
in the Philippines, they also saw action in N. Africa,
Sicily, Italy and throughout NW Europe.
