The M8 Howitzer
Motor Carriage was produced from September 1942 and
January 1944 with a total of 1,778 produced.
Built on
the modified hull of the M5 Light Tank (US2) and armed
with the 75mm Howitzer (US48) they saw action in Italy
and NW Europe and usually towed
the M8 Armoured Ammunition Trailer, available as kit
US15.
A number were
also supplied to the Free French. These vehicles were
later used in the war in Indochina.
