In an effort to get more 90mm
tank destroyers into production the decision was taken
to produce an expedient design utilizing the hull of
the M4A3 and the turret of the M36. In total 187 were
bult from October to December of 1944.
Please note
that the photographs incorrectly show the Travelling
Lock on the front glacis plate.
The
locating lugs should be removed and the Travel Lock
repositioned at the centre edge of the rear engine deck.
