The LCP(R) was an obvious
development of the LCP(L); the latter requiring disembarkation
via the sides. With the redesigned hull the load increased
to 39 troops or 8,595Lbs. of cargo.
They too saw
action on both theatres including the North African
landings (Torch), Guadalcanal, Salerno, Tarawa and even
in Normandy.
